ice hockey! more egg tarts, rock buns and home cooked chicken rice!
We finally caught an ice hockey match on saturday! The decision to catch the match was rather abrupt -- we were waiting around to buy tickets for our ski trip and we met peter who showed us the place to get the tickets in school and we all decided to catch the match since if Linkoping team lost, we wouldn't get to watch them anymore! the tickets were 90 sek but the experience was worth it.it's gotta be one of the reasons for my getting fat. it's sold at 5 for 20sek and comes in dark chocolate version too!
this is the rink after it has been freshly zambonied. looks beautiful! for those familiar with fuji ice palace in jurong east, this rink is at least 3 times that size. i'd love to skate on it! i will buy skates and go skating soon!
the picture in the top left corner was taken when the players broke into a fight. haha..in fact, they fought and one of the guys broke his hockey stick and 1 player from each team was sent off for the third of the game. and there were quite a few more fights after that but not as exciting. anyway, the game was goal less for the first 2 thirds until linkoping woke up their idea and scored 4 goals in the final third! the fans really went crazy! we will definitely be watching at least one match in the coming cup.
oh ya! during the first break, there was this mini match between the junior team. they are so cute! super tiny and falling down all over the place! there was this particularly small kid whose jersey looked like a nightshirt on him. i think he was about 1M tall. so adorable! i wanna put them in my pocket and bring them home! haha.
and here's a photo of the cheerleaders which i forgot to put into the collage.
after the ice hockey match, we went to Martin's for Tacos Night! it was delicious! i made mango sago for him but the mangoes we got were not ripe and hard and not sweet. =( dumb mangoes. we forgot to take tonnes of photos this time round. bleah. but thanx martin for tacos and thanx peter for bringing us to the match!
other than the ice hockey match and dinner at Martin's, we didn't do anything exciting this week but eat!
the top left corner is supper the night before we left for kiruna and the next is lunch on the day we left. both cooked with falukorv, which brings the way to eat falukorv up to 4 with that one 15sek falukorv! value for money or what! haha. and as seen, we have become addicted to sunny side eggs because eggs are relatively cheap and our frying pan is excellent. the bottom left photo is mushroom rice which is very very yummy. i will definitely make it for my family when i go home! and here are my bakes for the week. egg tart round 2 as requested by bb. the egg tarts this time round turned out yummier and more pretty 'coz i baked the shells for awhile before filling them up with custard. and i added a little more water to the pastry. so if any of you are making egg tarts, just some little tips for you! the other bake was like rock cake which i made in home ec class in sec 1. i had no recipe whatsoever. just took out the magarine, sugar and flour and mixed whatever quantity i felt like and it ended up as rock cakes which are yummy. it's like cookies but only softer. but if i had to bake them again, i probably can't 'coz i have no idea how much of each i added. haha..but it's fun to randomly mix dough and see what comes out of it!on friday, we decided to eat a good meal and there it is. panfried dory fillet and cod fillet with hollandaise sauce with oven roasted tomatoes, button mushrooms and potato wedges and some potato salad. yum yum yum! looking at it makes me hungry all over again. the cod fillet was not too good but the dory was excellent. i can predict us having it quite often.
singaporean food part 1 this week: pork floss bread! haha..i love pork floss! big thank you to bb's big aunt for the 2 huge packets of pork floss she bought us before we left for Sweden. there's still alot left 'coz we can't bear to eat too much of it.
singaporean food part 2: hainanese chicken rice! from scratch! we didn't have a whole chicken so i made do with the frozen drumsticks we bought a while back. i had to add in a chicken stock cube to give it more taste but the chicken turned out quite good. nice and tender and bloody like the usual we get in the hawker centre. the rice wasn't oily enough 'coz i couldn't get enough chicken fat out of the drumsticks but it had the smell, just lacking a little taste but the chicken soya sauce with garlic oil saved it. and carrots boiled in the chicken stock served as the vege part. and there you have it! singaporean hainanese chicken rice right out of a Swedish kitchen!
i really have to stop cooking so much and eating so much and getting fat! the amount of rice i have ate in the last month must be more than what i have eaten in the past year! arh! and i must start studying! exams in 2 weeks! stockholm post will be up soon!
