yummy prawn toast!!
i'm blogging to show off the yummy prawn toast we made on sunday evening for dinner! here it is! i've seen it somewhere before and have always wanted to try it! finally! and it was good! we got rid of the about to expire bread at the same time! it's a piece of bread, a small slice of ham, a small slice of cheese and one big butterflied tiger prawn all combined together and deepfried to perfectness. yums!aside from the beautiful prawn toast, we also made fresh fries from the potatoes that have been lying around for a week.
and fishfingers! the fries were good. nicer than macdonalds! haha..
our baked chicken drumsticks which weren't the best..but edible and fatless 'coz the fats all melted into the brown mess you see.
and the greens for the day. kailan with oyster sauce! asian food bus rocks!
after the wonderful dinner on sunday, monday was the first truly homestyled meal we've had since we got here weeks ago. a few dishes with rice. all we lacked was a soup!
clockwise from left, we had steamed mince meat with egg, a dish that i've loved since i was a kid and my ah ma made it for lunch often, stirfried chicken slices with button mushrooms in garlic and oyster sauce and chef yz's fried kailan with carrots in his own special sauce. it was a wonderful dinner with a very homely feeling.and obviously there wasn't a single bit of it left! not even a grain of rice! and here's proof that i did cook dinner: didn't manage to get a shot of bb frying veges..that'll be for another day!
food aside, the snow is back! and with a vengeance! just about 1 or 2 hours of snow and we had about 2, 3cm deep of it! but that also meant that the subzero temperatures are back. bleah.. here's a tree on my way out of school freshly covered with snow!
beautiful isn't it?
some really pretty "snow flowers" that formed on the branches. it really looks like flowers. and finally, the snow this time round brought perfect snowflakes.
it really is quite amazing that the snowflakes have such nice and definite form. there were bigger ones but they didn't show well against my white jacket. i'll take some nicer shots if more snow comes down the next few days! i love my camera!
time to sleep now!
luv, Junli
